Possible scammer...what do I next?

Did u verify their details before parting cash ?

Given them another deadline, say 24hrs, to reply (by email, voicemail etc) else, start a Paypal action !

first of all contact paypal and make a dispute with them if you paid by credit card do a snach back let us all know his/her name for ridicule purposes and tell a mod, if this dont work small clames court would be my next move

You are complaining about being scammed, yet you also bought a fake memory card and happy to see Sony being scammed, think about it....

Anyway, you also asked him to update the firmware, - its only 3 days since the sale, There may be genuine reasons for not being available yesterday, but I don't know the facts..

Did you carry out the FS.FT checks in full, inc telephone call, address, verification/small deposit etc ?

if sony charged a realistic price for there cards no one would buy coppies as they woulden't exist ,so is sony not ripping us off over charging us for the cards?

Raptorcigs, no point in trying to condone piracy. The PSP is not a neccessity, purchase at the market rate or take your custom elsewhere. Manufacturers respond to this, however if a substantial part of the the customer base is happy to pay, then it indicates they have set an appropriate price for the goods.

It's your rip off's like tesco/argos whos mem card prices are much more than the majority of retailers, presumably banking on the ignorance of others who are not aware of the alternatives, or sometimes just pay for the convenience of having the goods to hand.

Can I first of all make a point. I do not condone piracy and, in fact, I wish only to extend the functionality of the PSP for homebrew only! My main reason for a buying a 'cheap' psp is that I have 2 young kids and they will use it as a 'button basher' on long car trips! The wife also likes to watch photos and movies of our kids, hence another reason for extending its functionality.
On the subject of the memory card, it was never mentioned in the inital sale, and I was quite happy to buy a genuine card. The seller decided to 'throw it in' at last minute saying he forgot to mention it...my alarm bells should have started ringing then!!!
Anyway, as to the possible scam, I am not complaining about being scammed, I am just looking for advice from experienced members. I made a number of basic errors in making the transaction and, at the end of the day, it is my fault for allowing myself to be scammed so easily. I did not verify the details but I did note that he did not give a landline number (my eyebrows raised at that!) That said, I paid by PayPal and I think I should have some comeback, that is what I am paying Paypal fees for isn't it?
All said and done, although not yet confirmed, I have a feeling that I have been scammed and if I were to report it to PayPal would I stand a chance of getting my monney back?
How did the mod find out he was trading under 2 accounts...did he do a check on address details.

You might not have been scammed, you asked for the item to be upgraded, although you are frustrated at not being able to get in touch.

I don't know if PayPal can help if the item is not received within 72 hrs, perhaps you have to wait a little longer.

Hopefully you get your item(s), but the lesson to be learned is always follow the fs/ft guidelines/rules to reduce the possibility of being scammed.

I think I will give the seller the benefit of the doubt and will allow one more day for delivery although he did promise special next day delivery!

The fact that the he hasn't been in touch since the transaction was compeletd does not bode well.

If I don't hear any word by tomorrow I will pm you (aScottishBloke) the transaction details.
