Went on Wed with old voucher and got 24 cans of carlsberg for £9!! No authorization needed!!
Went today a bought a bottle of wine and it asked for age authorization for the wine and authorization for the voucher!!
Didn't think i'd get away with it but did!! Bottle of wine for £1.25!!
Weird how it asks for authorization sometimes but not others??
Anyone work for Tesco who can explain this??

I work for Tesco, their "blanket" policy on coupons is as follows - if you have bought the product stated, and the voucher scans, then you may accept it. If the product has NOT been purchased checkout staff are supposed to accept ONE voucher only UP TO the value of £1.
So I would say that if people have been able to use this voucher, they have been quite lucky, some stores bend the rules but most do not now-I know in my store if this voucher was accepted that the cashier would be called in for "coupon counselling" YEP they really do call it that
Bottom line,it's worth a go you might get one of the less diligent members of staff who don't care what they scan.Go for it!!!

It's best to use the self-service, because that accepts them more often than not

Yes but bear in mind that will flag up an alert on the system that the member of staff is monitoring and they are supposed to come over and check, but yes you are more likely to sneak it through there!!!

I also work in tesco and we can accept any voucher of any value as long as tesco stock the item wether the customer has purchased the item or not and can accept 2 of the vouchers if they have purchased the item but cannot accept a voucher ment for another store ie £1 off goodfellas pizza from asda only

Please could you explain what "authorisation for the voucher" means?
