if you're talking custom f/w, I think I read somewhere that you need 2.80 or above - best to check google first

I think I'm correct in saying 2.81 firmware allowed for cards over 4GB

I would get confirmation before you spend your money, this is from another thread:

Snare:
I have just got the 8gb M2 but my psp doesn't recognize it.
What do I do?
v2drinkers:
You need to update your firmware to 2.8 or later for m2 cards to work
Snare:
I have. I have 3.90 - M33-3
v2drinkers:
Can you format it in the PSP or does it not even think one is there?
Snare:
doesn't even think there is one.

Thanks for the confirmation. I am interested in getting one, but still don't want to chance it until there are few more people confirming that they work.

What firmware is your PSP, and is it a phat, or a slim & Lite?
