Hi, last year i found the perfect dress for me and again it was over £1000.00 in the bridal shop, i found the same one made to measure on ebay from china for £250.00 the only difference was, when it arrived it was lighter in weight than the one in the shop, when you think that you are wearing it all day this was actually a big advantage. Maybe worth a look

also the dresses on ebay from china are also on this website and at half the price they start from about £40.00 www.dhgate.com just type in wedding dress these are all made to measure

also i ahve bought from them and the company witholds you paypal payment until you have recieved and are happy with your purchase, when you are you email them and then they release payment.
also they do lovely jewellery and accesories for weddings

I had wondered about the dresses from China, but I was concerned that the material would be cheap or that the dress wouldn't be well made. Yeah I know I only get to wear it for one day, but in my book that's all the more reason to get the dress I really, really want, it's my only chance!!!

If you google once worn dresses there are several sites and shops that specialise in selling on wedding dresses which will obviously be at a big cost reduction as they aren't brand new - normally sold at about half price. They give exact measurements etc and most have outlets so you can visit (by appointment) and try the dresses on. Sorry, I can't remember any names but I looked into these a few years ago as the dress I wanted was £1800. I remember there was one near Reading......If I can remember anything more i'll post again. and a few new ones that weren't around when I was searching. Definately worth a look as you may get lucky. Unfortunately I wasn't and had no choice but to buy my dress new as I couldn't find a preowned one. I definately would have bought a nearly new one given the chance as £1800 is a lot of money to have sitting in my wardrobe doing nothing!!
