EXPIRED - HSBC - Get £50 cashback for upgrading online to bank account plus & £50 Quidco!

£155.40

-22°

FOUND BY: Icklecat 4 months, 4 days ago

STARTS: 01/05/2008   EXPIRES: 09/05/2008

HSBC Bank Account customers upgrading to Bank Account Plus via Personal Internet Banking from 1st to 9th May 2008 will receive £50. Your account will be credited after 2 months, minimum 12 month contract.

You can also get £50 cashback through Quidco for bank account plus making a total saving of £100 (12 months of bank account plus will cost £155.40) and you get loads of benefits!

Benefits of the bank account plus include:
* Worldwide family travel insurance - includes winter sports cover. (Not available to customers aged 70 years and over.)
* Preferential rates, terms or discounts available on overdrafts, mortgages, loans, savings and insurance.
* Credit card - annual 10% interest refund with your HSBC Bank Credit Card (plus £20 Quidco cashback here too)
* Identity Theft Assistance and Personal Security Protection - available 24/7 with a dedicated helpline and 24/7 Telephone Banking too.
* High Interest Savings Account for Children - We are offering a preferential rate on our High Interest Savings Account for Children of 8% AER (gross 7.72%) fixed for 12 months from account opening on balances up to £1,000
* Enjoy a 0% overdraft for two months, while we transfer your account.
* plus more... (check the direct link for full details)

And also an added benefit of upgrading before 18th May: you'll receive 8% AER (7.72% gross) fixed interest on credit balances up to £1,000 and pay only 8% EAR fixed on debit balances up to £1,000 for 12 months from account opening.

I was tempted by bank account plus before but thought I'd get it a bit later in the year so I can fit 2 holidays in with the Travel Insurance, now this is a perfect time to start it up =D

IF your going to take advantage of all the 'benefits' then this is a good deal, i think there is also a get £5 for changing to paperless deal as well somewhere. Personally i would never use the things that you pay for so.. good deal though

Also, if you happen to be HSBC staff the cost of the plus account is £6 a month so you'd actually get £28 in your pocket (after the HSBC & Quidco cashback) and have the plus account completely free for the minimum 12 months =)

And be gentle, this is my first post! =) xx

Yes, this is true, but with that you don't get a cheque book or paying in book, but worth it for the environment =) Especially for those who mainly bank online anyway and don't really write out cheques. I like to keep paper copies of my statements though, just a habit I got into

Yes, you need to go to Quidco (sign up if you havn't already) and then search for HSBC, then choose the one for bank account plus and follow that link and then apply for bank account plus on the HSBC website from there, and the activity should shortly track through Quidco & tell you when to expect your £50 from them =)

but then how does hsbc give you £50? don't you have to log in to apply for it? i think its gonna be £50 for quidco or hsbc, not both... but anyone confirm quidco has tracked?
travel insurance itself is worth £70 for 2 persons... so if i get quidco, i should be able to chase hsbc for the £50, and then it will be an extremely HOT deal

HSBC and First Direct same people, I've voted cold because of First Direct's attitude to customers by alienating low earners with their account charges for people earning less than £1,200 - a joke of a bank!

Is it really fair to vote the thread cold because of an opinion you hold on a bank that is linked to this one? I guess you're not the only one though because this thread now seems to be cold, which is a shame, I thought it was a good find £100 cashback can't be wrong in my books if you plan on using something.
