Are these USB A-B cables?
Like this pic..

Not bad if you're going there. Can be had online for 99p or less + delivery though

I'm genuinely shocked that a retailer would charge this for a basic cable, but not too surprised to discover that it's DSG!

They really need some competition and they wouldn't get away with it. I refuse to buy things like this from shops just for this reason - so much cheaper online. Or if you're lucky in a random other shop you wouldn't have necessarily thought to sell them.

Its actually suprisingly hard to find a cheap USB cable on the high street, i went round all my local shops and the cheapest i could find was £9.99, ended up getting one for like £1 off dell in the end

These cables only cost a few pence to make. Its truly amazing the way some retailers price them and even more amazing that people buy them at these prices. Pretty sure I saw a basic usb printer cable in poundland so there is high street availability of a cheap cable.

I asked a PC world salesman about this some time ago, and he said "yeah but what you have to remember is we have overheads to pay, staff, shops etc, and also we make very little on the £400 laptops so we have to make money on the extras so we mark up the cables etc"

lol
