TESCO HAVE REDUCED THEIR DELIVERY CHARGES

i GOT THIS EMAIL AND THOUGHT SOME OF YOU MIGHT BENEFIT FROM KNOWING THIS INFORMATION

At Tesco.com we are always trying to find ways to help our customers spend less. Recently, we've been reviewing our service charges on our grocery site and the good news is that we've cut them on the majority of delivery slots.

We've also simplified the grid so it's now easier to select the slot that's right for you. These prices will be effective in your store on all deliveries from today (6th May 2008).

I HAD A LOOK ON THE SITE AND THE CHEAPEST SLOT IS NOW £3.50 NOT BAD FOR TESCOS WHO I THOUGHT HAVE ALWAYS BEEN QUITE EXPENSIVE FOR DELIVERY

It says reductions wil start from today so if it isnt applied tell them u got the email stating the price drop, worth a go

Not lazy, dad works about 12 hours a day so he cant do it, and me and mum both have health problems that prevent us from going out to do the shopping.

Other people dont want to have to drag the kids around the shop with them.

Plus, it sometimes works out cheaper to get it delivered than it does to go to the shop because of online vouchers that give you more than the delivery charge back. Plus you dont have to pay transport costs

I know people think you are lazy if you shop on line, but i do it because it saves me between £20 and £50 per week as I can put things in and out of my basket if I decide I have enough. I set myself a budget each week and keep to it by doing this and save a fortune. It also means I do not walk around the toy section first buying things to put away just in case and waste money on all those in store offers that are normally just bits of rubbish but seem like a good thing to buy at the time!!!! I find it so easy to see all the offers on line where as my local Tesco is so huge I tend to miss loads of them. Shopping instore takes me 1 1/2 hours + petrol, doing it on line takes 15 minutes tops and I save money!! I use voucher codes for money off so they normally pay me to deliver my shopping!! Now who is the fool????????? I work evenings and think it is an absolute blessing, maybe if a few more people did it, there wouldn't be so many tired screamng brats! My kids absolutley hate shopping at at the ages of 4, 5 and 6 I cannot think of anything worse especially with the weather changing.
God I went on a bit then didn't I!!!!!!

We used to get it on a tuesday as it was the cheapest, but dad complained that when it came to the weekend and he was actually in the house, there was nothing left. So he said get it on a friday instead, and he pays for it so if he wants to pay the extra thats up to him

Great news, but I wish they would deliver to people who are housebound (elderly/disabled/etc.) for free.
