In the terms and conditions it states that the travel voucher must be taken on the journey with you! Our local newspaper had this offer and you had to collect three tokens to validate your ticket, which you must show when you present your ticket on the train. Did your email mention any of this?

When can I book?
Bookings are now open and will close on Friday 16 May 2008.
You must book at least seven days in advance of outward travel. The first date of travel under the offer is 06 May 2008.
When can I travel?
Between Tuesday 06 May and Friday 11 July 2008
(excluding 23 May - 01 June 2008 inclusive).
Seats are available on off-peak services with limited availability on Fridays and Sundays. There will also be limited availability when major events are taking place.
Please note, engineering work taking place on some weekends during this promotion may affect your journey times. More information about disruption as a result of engineering work.
What do I need?

What they dont mention is the extra £1 booking fee and 50p charge to debit cards (or £1 on credit cards)!!!
Still a good price..... there are some good deals anyway since they started running the east coast line. I got Doncaster to Newcastle for £13 the other week (the day before travel).

Since when have NXEC added charges for CC use and a booking fee?

The only company I know that does that is thetrainline
