Has anyone ever used Tesco Car Insurance? are they any good?

POSTED BY: caz1cool 1 week, 2 days ago

Trying to insure my new car at the moment and Tesco have given a fairly decent quote. Has any one used them before, are they any good? any one claimed through them?

I used them. Had a cracked screen. Went to Autoglass (their preferred).
They sorted out everything so didn't even have to talk to Tesco.

I use them, I've never had to claim. They give me the cheapest quote at the time, swiftcover now looks cheaper (for me) So I wont be renewing.

I had the insurance for the first car with them, they had great price at renewal as well... Never had to claim though ... so no idea on that front but if i remember right they had a UK call centre and are fairly competitive in prices ....

I took out my policy with them yesterday. I went through wepromiseto.co.uk for £50 cashback. Just waiting for it to track now. Also, applied for the free pressure washer.

I wouldn't touch Direct Line with a barge pole. Totally ripped me off after my car got nicked and written off. Took months to sort out and then ended up £1.5 - 2k out of pocket.

Hubby had policy with Tesco up to 2yrs ago, but moved to Privilege (Part of Direct Line but with extra discounts for 4yrs no claims) as they were a lot cheaper. When he had a prang Privilege were great, allowed him to used preferred repairer, arranged hire car etc, & most of the claim was handled quickly over the phone (little paperwork). Only tip with Privilege is to renew online each year with new policy number to continue getting extra internet discount. Should always compare your quote to the same one given by your company online to see if you are given extra discounts over renewal price. I moved my policy there as well, but I always compare with a number of other car insurers each year as well
