EXPIRED - ELTAX TUN70 FM/AM RDS HiFi Tuner, £9.99 in-store @ RicherSounds VIP Club

£9.99

210°

FOUND BY: Agharta 1 month, 4 weeks ago

Expires: 21/05/2008

The Eltax Tun70 comes with everything you'd expect from a quality budget tuner. Both FM and AM, Medium Wave, come as standard with each boasting 20 presets. For ease of use the FM section features RDS. This makes it easy to find the strongest signal and gives a clear indication of the station being listened to on the Tun-70's clear, comprehensive display.

It's £40 normallly and this price is for VIP club members which is an email newsletter that you sign up for. I think you just need to ask in store for the VIP price and no proof is needed.

Very reasonable budget tuner this ... so at a tenner has to be good value for money.

You'd struggle to get a half-decent second-hand one for that much.

Good for the year or few that you have until the analogue signal is switched off... There'll be plenty more tuners like this going cheap!

Oh come on, would it not have been easier to just post the entirety of Richer sounds email here rather than starting seperate threads for each part of it?

a good deal is a good deal and to be fair you will find people doing the same with play sales etc where there are lots of entries posted for each good deal.

I thought DAB was going down the tubes - what exactly is the digital future for radio?

Richer Sounds are a pain in the backside for the dirt cheap offers. I used to work 5 minutes from 2 different branches, and after getting What Hi-Fi (which used to feature exclusive offers - not sure if they still do) at 6 in the morning of the day the mag comes out, I'd ring both branches something like five minutes before they opened.

Neither branch ever had any models of the offers advertised that I was interested in. Not one off instance this either - I did exactly this on something like 12-15 occasions. Never any joy whatsoever.

It's a good price, but seeing as though its instore only it's pot luck at best. Personally I have the Eltax DVD player/amp that has a tuner built in, which came with surround speakers and only cost £20 more.

The Analogue Radio signal is not currently planned for switchoff at all. Analogue TV is due to be off by 2011, but Radio is fine.

As pud1m has already said, DAB is actually going down the pan, with radio stations closing down.

DAB is unlikley to go completely mainstream, as other ways of delivering such as via digital TV, or the internet are becoming more widespread.

So - go for it... no worries about it becoming useless for a very long time yet

It was always online for £39.99, the £9.99 price is for VIP members only. To become one you just need to sign up to receive their monthly emails, which will include these offers...thats it.
