I have one of these. They do a good job but the mesh lets paper dust thru and it can really make a bit of a mess. Ok if you don't mind a bit of extra dust around the place. If I was buying now, I would go for a solid receptacle.

I've got the 670/2261... But only paid £9.99 in the sale a while back.

http://www.argos.co.uk/static/Produc...Bshredders.htm

And it works really well, although as a desktop shredder you do have to empty it quite often, but i like the small shredders as they are not obtrusive.
The one in the header looks equally good as well, and cheap.
Voted Hot.

We have one we bought a few weeks ago, and I got the extended cover for a couple of £. As mentioned in a previous thread to prevent dust put a plastic bag in the bin, problem solved, definitely worth it.

if anyone actually considers buying the "3 Year Replacement Product Cover" make sure you DONT select the one they are offering on that page as it is for a product you pay between "£15 - £29.99". Since this item is now reduced you should pay the LOWER price for 3 Year Replacement Product Cover £5 to £9.99 which you can get here for only £1.49. I personally do not but these warranties but many of you may opt to do so.

I got a Challenge shredder (cat # 6702199) a while back when it was £19.99, and I'm very pleased with it. I posted the deal on HUKD at the time (its expired now unfortunately and is now £39.99), and the general feedback was very good. The extended cover is probably a good idea (but see Investment's post above).

Oh, and Tesco Value pedal bin liners are ideal as shredder bags (less than 1p per bag).

That's the one we got. Seems to work OK though it sounds much more noisy and crude than the Lidl one that it replaced.

Now that Lidl one was very good, lasted about 4 years which was quite remarkable considering the number of times my wife jammed it so full it blocked up or overheated :-)

great shredder and comes with a good guarantee out of the box. i think it's 3 or 5 years. mine broke down and they sent me another one, newer model in 3 days. no questions asked, they didnt take the old shredder too, just asked me to dispose it.
so if you were that way inclined, you could have 2 shredders for £9.99

Bit noisy tho but pretty good overall

It's OK but you have to feed the paper straight, or if it hits the sides, or creases up it will jam if over 2-3 sheets
It is noisy too. but you don't use it constantly, or you would buy an office one!

Wickes had some the other day which took CD's too, reduced from £15 to £10, roughly. Didn't look quite as nice though :(

I bought the £19.99 one a couple of days ago, so it is worth checking instore to see the price as it scanned at £19.99 still! I would also recommend paying £4.99 for the 3 year cover...cause you're laughing then and not havingto fork out for a brand new shredder each time, as these are things that just dont seem to last!
