Panasonic Lumix DMC-TZ3 7mp 10x Opt Zoom Ebuyer £134.99 del

£134.99

200°

FOUND BY: bjmcghee 2 days, 19 hours ago

Best price I've seen (from a well-known seller) for this fantastic camera at £134.99 delivered using supersaver delivery, had the chance to play about with it and it's one of my favourites. Takes very good pictures, controls are nice to use and you can get a good grip on the camera. Price probably lowered a little since the TZ5 came out, but this is worth £135 of anyone's money if you want a large zoom camera that isn't brick-sized. It's not lightweight, but it packs a lot of punch!

DMC-TZ3 is the latest members of the award-winning Lumix TZ family of digital cameras, which is renowned for packaging a remarkable 10x optical zoom in a compact, stylish body. To further add to their appeal, the TZ3 go one step further to feature a 28mm wide-angle Leica DC lens (equivalent to 28-280mm on a 35mm film camera) for wide-angle shooting.

The 28mm wide-angle lens opens up a plethera of photographic opportunities, allowing photographers to easily capture a large group of people, or expansive architectural structures and landscapes with dynamic width and rich perspective. The wide-angle lens is particularly helpful in situations where you cannot step back or move away from a subject - ideal for shooting group portraits in a small room for example.

The diminutive size of the 7.2 megapixel DMC-TZ3 belies the wealth of technological features. Incorporating a powerful 10x optical zoom in such a slim and stylish body is impressive in itself. Add to this the incorporation of Panasonic's Mega O.I.S that prevents blurring from shaky hands, Intelligent ISO to prevent motion blur, and the high quality, high performance image-processing Venus Engine III to name but a few - and the calibre of these new additions becomes apparent

Good deal. I can't wait for the FX-500 to come down in price. It looks excellent!

depends if you know how to use it!!

I had both the TZ1 and TZ3 and although OK, it's not a brilliant camera. It's basically a jack of all trades and master of none. My biggest gripe with it was the noise on the images, visible even down at ISO 200. It was quite good outside, in good light, though. It's a competent camera, but nothing special. I suppose the biggest draw for most people is the 10x zoom. Don't get me wrong, it's a decent enough camera, esp at this price (due to TZ4 and 5 coming out), but I just didn't get on with them.

In contrast, I am still using my Fuji F31 (which I bought before the TZ1 and TZ3), despite it's lack of zoom (at both ends!!) and IS.

Yes, very - I was using one extensively in a game reserve in South Africa recently. It's very responsive, and because of the image stabilisation, it's actually usable hand-held at maximum zoom.

The main disadvantage is the small aperture (inevitable on a camera this size) which results in longer exposures unless the light is very bright, resulting in blur with moving subjects (such as animals!).

For most punters it's about the big headline grabbing specs/names...

10x optical
Lot of megapixels
IS
PANASONIC

etc.

So let's not bother with the small details such as picture quality (noise, detail),

I was lucky enough to get hold of one of these cameras a month before their release date and I paid £269, take it from me when I say it was the best thing I invested my money in

How does this one compare with the Canon IXUS range, anyone know? In particular regards to size, ease of usability, performance, battery life.

Missed the Tesco Extra bargains yesterday then got interested in the new IXUS 80; all of a sudden you good people post a bargain to put a cat amongst the mental pigeons

Heat + Rep added!

Posting as another satisfied user of this camera. OK, not a feature for the purists but you can take photos in widescreen and also shoot 30fps video in widescreen format.

As previously posted, a very responsive camera and a great take anywhere model. SDHC compatible too.
