One annoying thing is resolution.
1024x720 , if you have a PC connected some software refuses to run unlrdd 1024x768
Daughters vtech learning is an example.

Good Tv and 100hz, if it had 48 more pixels or was 1080p I might bite the bullet.

Good price.

I noticed it says HD ready and not FULL HD. Is there much of a difference?

plasmas res are always rated at that, its something different between plas's and lcds, believe me this will knock an equivelent LCD out the water in terms of PQ.

The psecs are fine. I have a Panasonic plasma which is over 2 years old and the SD picture quality is as good as a standard CRT tv...something I have yet to see on a higher spec'd LCD. Let's be honest most of us are going to be watching SD material for a while so you need to make sure your tv does a good job of displaying that (which this does).

Reading some of the reviews it seems to have positive feedback on both HD and SD picture quality. Defintely a hot buy considering yu couldn't get a Panasonic plasma for less than a £1000 and they always seem to blow away the competition in all of the Home Cinema Choice reviews: http://www.homecinemachoice.com/

Badger, if you want to pay more then go for the TH42PX85B which has a full HD panel otherwise you're spending more on the same tv for a few more connections (which is worth it I guess if you've got lots to connect to the tv).

At 42" this resolution is plenty, at least for 99% of buyers. If you really want 1080p, be aware that even with 20/20 vision you'll need to sit 6 feet away to actually see the extra pixels.

I suspect you're wrong about that. I have the TH42PX70B and the resolution is 1024 x 768 (which my PC quite happily runs at, but it will also run in a huge range of other larger and smaller resolutions. Perhaps you need a better graphics card... I've used two media centre PCs (self builds) running with a Nvidia 7600Gs and an ATI HD3450... both of them will display different resolutions, but I currently have my pc running at 1024 x 768 without a hitch. I can't believe that panasonic would make changes to stop you running other resolutions.

EDIT: Just checked and the TH42PX8 also has a resolution of 1024x768.
