It started this after noon and has been getting worse and I think it might be affecting other programmes and makin things run a little slower.
I have done a virus and spyware check and they are okay.
Any help would be appreciated

Does it say SP3 in the update versions ? There have been weirdos & wondefuls about this patch
No haven't updated windows explorer but installed a newer version of Nero Express a couple of days ago, downloaded a few dvd converter programmes but uninstalled them because they were rubbish. It all started this afternoon when I tried to watch something on my media centre, the screen froze and the sound went jumpy, the screen then turned back and it took me ages to turn the media centre off. that's when it all started
my friend had a similar problem.. it was a problem with her codecs on the Roxio software.
if you click on the report info when you get the error, it should tell you what exactly is causing the problem..?
I think I might have to try uninstalling Nero if nothing else works.
I have just been on windows and had a couple of updates and it is now installing XP3, I thought I was set up for auto updates, but I guess not.
I have clicked on the report info and it doesn't tell me anything .. it all looks like it's in code or something!
I have lost count of how many times I have switched off the PC at the mains to stop it freezing up!
I have not had that pop up since windows started updating, so fingers crossed!
