FOUND BY: godedd 6 days, 1 hour ago

Go easy on me as this is my first post! Couldn't find this cheaper on-line anywhere else. Comet are asking £169.99 for it.

Saw these in-store at my local Tesco Extra. Also available on-line to get 3% Quidco and triple clubcard points until Wednesday 14 May.

This satellite navigation (sat nav) system from Garmin provides spoken and visual travel directions for roads, street names and postcodes in the UK and Ireland through a 2.8" touchscreen and speaker system which incorporates an MP3 player. 3D mapping brings greater sense of reality to route visualisation. Vehicle suction cup mount, AC Charger, carry case, 12-24 volt adapter cable, dashboard disk, USB interface cable, quick reference guide and in car charger are included accessories. No they didn't!

Comet had the non-traffic '300' version. This is the 300T. Not the same thing. Voted hot.

The 300 is £99.99 in Comet. The 300T is £169.99 in Comet.

They've got them in Tesco at Carlisle, which isn't an Extra, so I expect they will be in most sores.

Yes they did! I got one, a 300T. I tried everything to get the code to work for the nuvi 300 in the other topic but got nothing, after a while looking on the net it seemed the 300t was the one on offer, so i tried it and it worked so i ordered one. Worked out with Quidco to be £82.

Anyway, back on topic. A great buy for those which missed it last week (or was it two weeks ago) Hot!

The 300T has been reviewed twice on amazon.co.uk and both people gave it 1 star out of 5...

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Garmin-Satel...sbs_ce_title_4

"Sadly, there are known problems with the TMC receivers, ie they don't work, but garmin won't seem to do anything about it. Mine did not even look for a signal, and you can't manually search (unlike Tom Tom). Forums are full of complaints about this. I drove on stretches of motorway I know other people pick up signals on, and mine wouldn't even search! "

Being a 300-series owner, those two reviews are clearly from 2 people who didn't actually bother to RTFM and one of them has a PC with USB problems!!

No problems with TMC, in fact reception seems to be far better than that for TomTom!! Where problems are found, there are firmware upgrades. TMC is poor in the UK for ANY satnav, due to the fact that the FM transmitter power outputs are ONE TENTH of what they are in all other countries that use the system. That's TrafficMaster's fault, not Garmin's or TomTom's.

Mine has been well tested BTW, I do approx 40,000 miles pe year.
