Every image is richly expressive from bright scenes, such as scorching desert landscapes, to dark cave scenes. Contrast is enhanced by the new Real Black Drive system (a pre-discharge control system) and a higher base luminance from improvements made to the panel production process. The high contrast creates deep, robust blacks and reproduces scenes with a delicate balance of light and shadow.

You can enjoy beautiful cinematic reproduction of movie images. The images that are recorded onto movie film at 24 frames per second (fps) are reproduced at two times that speed by 24p Playback. This achieves film-like reproduction than with the 2:3 processing method.

Smooth gradation lends natural expression to images such as sunsets. VIERA brings you the wide colour range of the x.v.Colour standard and the natural colours made possible by the Deep Colour (HDMI V.1.3) standard through its compliance with the newest video standards. This allows one to enjoy natural images with rich expression.

I have the 42" version, excellent TV. Incredible SD picture and 720p material playing off the xbox looks stunning.
Had been using an LCD, use a plasma for a week and I couldn't go back....

I was thinking of the 42" one but it was just a tad too big for my room. The 42" version is £635.55 delivered using the HOT5 code at checkout

Or get John Lewis to price match Sound & Vision at £658 delivered which will give you a 5 year warranty (worth the extra I would have thought).

Now that is a hot deal!!

They rate it as the second best 42" plasma next to the kuro, 1080p is just pointloess IMO at this size!

I totally agree with you, I have compared both and I can't see any noticable difference and a
1080p is nearly twice the price

That would be a better deal a 5 year guarantee for £22.45 difference

I went through quidco and have just checked and has tracked at £16.96. That will go towards a wall bracket.
any recommendations on a good priced wall bracket?

If anyone wants extra info on John Lewis price matching, check out this AVforums thread:
http://www.avforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=264343

I emailed them through the website and they wrote a letter back within 6 days (some people manage to get a quick response over the phone, but not always).

hooray, some people with brains on this site....yep 1080p is pointless on any tv less than 50in imo

i have the kuro in my lounge...its awesome.....better than any ****** LCD (i also have a samsung LCD which is ****).....ill be buying either the 42in panny or kuro for my bedroom...probably the former as it wont get that much use and im not after such an av experience in the bedroom (will leave that for the lounge) and the panny is excellent set and half the cost of the Kuro to boot

always buy a decent strong bracket...my Kuro is mounted on bracket that is fixed to a stud wall, but whilst i havent tried it, it will easily support my 14st weight (im told it will support 50kg tho)...but then it did cost £100.
Fixed brackets are better as over time the swivel/adjustable ones wont stay still/level (esp the cheaper ones)
