That's a good deal there. If I hadn't bought one from a post on here 8 months ago I'd get this.

The 1700 Vostro is configurable to a minimum of 3.8Kg. Since they all have 2 hard drives and if the information is up-to-date, i guess between 4-5Kg.

Hope that helps.

Indeed the 8600M GT is a good option for notebooks but it isn't exactly the same as the 8600 GT you've got, and I've got, for a desktop. Slightly differing specification but will certainly handle almost everything thrown at it.....unless you're a laptop owning, Crysis at full resolution playing, hardcore gamer that is of course.

This is certainly a good deal tho and a good spec using the newest 45nm processors.

Detailed specs for anyone interested

Detailed specs don't mention HDMI out ...

My friend got a non-business Dell recently and that had HDMI output. I'm going to hold off a little longer until I find one with that as standard I reckon.

Crysis on an 8600M! At times it's unplayable with my overclocked Dell Quad Core H2C with dual SLI enabled 8800 GTXs (and at only 1300x700 res!!!)

Still there aren'y many options for laptops

I've got one and you wouldn't want to be lugging it about for any amount of time, it's very heavy..........great machine mind you but more of a desktop replacement than a true laptop.

You must have a problem with your computer as my 5 year old P4 2.8 computer with a 512radeon 1650pro and 3gig of ram runs it on medium 1024x 768 with no unplayable parts.

Hey folks,

I'm looking for a desktop replacement to occassionally hook up to a 1080p plasma tele. Needs to be able to smoothly run 1080p downloaded content and has to have hdmi out to be able to do that on my tele, can anyone clarify if this does have hdmi out and whether its powerful enough to run the video

Thanks in advance for your help
