looks decent , I got 8600GT with 256 mb ram at this price 4 months ago so should perform better than that

Cold. It's not how much RAM you have that matters, but how much you need to use, and how fast that RAM can be accessed. Very few games use more than around 200MB of video memory, so the painfully slow DDR2 RAM on this card will do little more than hinder performance. One to avoid.

Could the OP please edit the title to include DDR2, as this is important & makes a difference compared to DDR3 (edit: as dxx confirmed above).

If title gets too long, you could remove 'PCI Express X16' (as all 8600GT cards are PCI-E anyway), or shorten it to 'PCI-E 16x' to accomodate DDR2.

There's an 8600GT going for £50.00 at ebuyer. It has 256mb DDR3 memory as opposed to DDR2 memory above and more significantly it's been tweaked slightly for better performance. Probably a slightly better bet!
Having said that I bought the above card from Play last week as with Quidco it was about as cheap an 8600GT I could find. It gets a reasonable review here:

The Ebuyer one is much better, this is cold. DDR2 is slow and 1GB is a waste of time on a slow card like this, 256MB is enough.

Yes I think the 1GB on a mid/low range card like this one is pretty much a gimmick as you will never use it. Far better going for the overclocked DDR3 Quieter Zalman Ebuyer card and saving £5.
