the only way i know to get cheaper tickets is via a student standby scheme, but you have to have an NSU card and show it when you go and obviously is only if they have seats left over!!!

So no good for you i'm afraid but for other students out there who might not know about it - you just sign up on the royal opera house websight and put in your email and phone so they let you know when there's seats spare.

I alas, am far from being a student but would love to be able to afford to go to the Opera House it's simply beautiful!
