Dyson query

POSTED BY: suze 5 days, 11 hours ago

I purchased a Dyson from Argos in August last year, it's just not performing as it should, we have checked and cleaned the filter etc.

I wrote to Dyson and they say I have to return it to the retailer, will Argos exchange it or will it have to go away for repair?

Anyone know?

I know you've checked the filter etc, but have you checked the front brush? My daughter had long hair and where she'd "moulted" it all got tangled around the brush until you couldn't see the bristles! We had to cut it out! You've probably checked this but it was just a thought!

Most probably! I bought a pram from them and had a similar response from the manufacturer and they swapped straight away. Also a Kenwood car stereo and that was 11 months old and again they exchanged for me. As long as you have the receipts etc. Argos are pretty good.

Yep, I know exactly what you mean! I do this nearly every time after using it!

Thats great news if they exchange it, don't want to be without a hoover whilst they repair it, also will just be waiting for the same thing to happen again!

I have always found Argos really good for exchanging items, my guess would be that they will give you another one .... If it were me I would really 'lay it on' regarding how bad its condition was if not replaced they will have to offer to repair it so well worth checking it out .... good luck

Well, I took it in they asked what I wanted them to do, I asked for an exchange they looked it up in the book and it had gone up by £50 since August! So, said they couldn't do that.

They got in touch with Dyson - did numerous checks over the telephone to the machine and then told me to take it home and ring Dyson myself (gave chaps name they spoke to) as they want to resolve the problem.

So, basically I'm back to square one, will get hubby to ring Dyson tomorrow afternoon when he's home.

Looked up my model of Dyson on the Argos website and it was £50 more than I paid, but has now gone down by £60 but they have none in stock at any of stores around me.
