Ebay really are in trouble then.....

They might expect some trouble after the change to the feedback system, I don't think sellers are happy about after the 15th of May sellers will no-longer able to leave -ve feedback. That is fine in 99% of circumstances it will make sellers up their game, but their are a couple of twisted buyers out there. My friend had one buyer that left a negative last year that said: BAD - item took 19 hrs to arrive, I wanted it in 10 mins

(For an item to arrive within 10 mins is impossible!!!!!!, she posted same day they paid & it arrived next day) and she was really upset, as she had under 100 feedback, so it really affected her feedback score.

surely she could have this removed by ebay - ridiculous!!

The fees ebay are charging to sell now is ridiculous, they take a nice % of what your item sells for too, ****ing *****s

Myself and a mate worked it out that you will get charged 4 times if you sell via a certain route:

Charge #1 - Insertion Fees (not massive but all adds up)
Charge #2 - Final Value Fee (this one can be a killer!!)
Charge #3 - Paypal Fee (won't let you list unless you add Paypal)
Charge #4 - Values under £50 are charge 25p if you wish to withdraw from Paypal

Absolutely appalling amount of charges. Hope they go bust!!

I would rather sell my item on here or to some random on the street for a cheaper price than i couild get it on ebay. I dont even buy stuff from ebay any more. The fees they charge are just unreal

first off you have your listing fee then your final selling price fee and THEN paypal fees. They even charge to upload pictures? how can imageshack do it for free and yet ebay, who make a considerable amount more than imageshack, feel it nescisarry to charge a fortune to host a 45kb file... I think i read somewhere that paypal has to be offered on every listing now, boosting ebays profits even more

I used to like ebay and use it all the time. Now it is just an expensive hole filled with useless **** from china and fakes

Sorry this is a cold deal for me - eBay have become rip-off merchants recently and sellers are leaving by the ship-load. What they don't tell you is that the final value fees and other charges have gone up and they are forcing you to use paypal which means they again take an extra cut from the sale and less money in your pocket.

Yep. Ebay really really need some stiff competition. Google, Stelios, even Branson, please get on the case!

It is simple to host your own on photobucket for example and not pay anything for extra photos. And you get decent size pictures then.

I'm amazed an effective competitor to ebay hasn't appeared yet. The time is really right for one too.

Though I suppose Amazon marketplace has taken a bunch of Ebays sellers.

Ive been selling on ebay for 5 years and in truth they have always been expensive to sell on, unfortunately you dont have alot of other options. Playtrade and amazon marketplace are also expensive, playtrade is shocking when it comes to charges.

yeah i know this, but others dont and this is why they do it. my point was that they are ripping people off
