Zak_K:
How long have you been with Virgin? Haggle it out of them. I've been with them for around 3 years, for the past year I've had the 3 for 30 package but for £24.00 (although how they worked out the £16.00/pm discount is beyond me). Anyways recently renewed my contract. Where as before I was on 2Mb broadband, L TV, Talk Weekends, Now I'm recieveing 4Mb(10Mb) broadband, XL TV, Talk Evening and Weekends - for £35/pm.
What I done was filled in a feedback form on virginmedia.com telling them the problems I was having andI asked them to let me know the upfront charge for me to disconnect while i'm still in my contract. Engineer calls me a week later arranges a time, couple of blokes come to replace my digital tv box but the problems I was having still existed... and then their plonker of a manager didnt turn up. Anyways I happend to come across a sound guy from the disconnections who sorted me out with that deal. Told me I'd be able to downgrade my services if I wish to later on even though they don't usually allow that, but if I ask someone to get him to give me a call back he'd sort it out.
With me we had no BT line so Virgin / Tiscali were our only options and I was never too serious about leaving. I'm sure you'll get a phone call from someone soon enough if you gave in your 30 days notice, if it happens to be someone half decent then you should get exactly what you're after.
Zak.
I have had the call that you are talking about and they can't get my bill down anymore; i have 2mb broadband, talk eve & weekend, xl tv package and 2 boxes for 39.50. So its a good deal but i get so irritated when i have to re-boot the boxes to see whats on and keep calling indian call centres when my internet chugs. I have just found out that i should be able to get freeview (apparently i was connecting it wrong) so i will prob keep the 1 cable box in the kids room and have freeview in the lounge as i can never find anything to watch on all 500 naff channels anyway.
Thanks
