BT Anywhere - BT ToGo Mobile Phone / Mobile Internet - £5 per month extra for BT Internet Option 3

£29.99

28°

FOUND BY: squidworth 3 months, 2 weeks ago

BT Internet Option 4 is now available for £23.99 a month for the first 3 months and £29.99 thereafter (18 month contract) for new users, thats just an extra £5 per month for existing Option 3 (ie unlimited) users.

You get a snazzy new mobile thats great for Internet, email, etc and has a camera etc. It comes with 50 minutes talk time and 50 free texts per month and 10Mb monthly download allowance for when away from an access point. Think BT uses the Vodaphone network and the phone runs on Windows Mobile 6, mine was delivered very quickly!

Whilst within reach of your BT HomeHub you can download and browse to your hearts content for nowt, including "free" calls over BT Talk. In any BT Openzone you have 500 minutes access per month, and soon (if not already) free access via any BT FON point.

"The brand new BT ToGo is a phone that comes with BT Total Broadband Anywhere as standard and is worth £150. The BT ToGo lets you check your emails, surf the internet and make calls when you're out and about."

Away from home standard-ish bt mobile prices apply (see link in 2nd reply below)

do you use it much? saw the employee offer but didn't bother
didnt look too hard at the specs but doesn't this use Voda mobile network (when not on BB) and hence doesnt have 3g speeds for browsing

I stand to be corrected here by anyone who has actually got one of these phones, (which are actually a rebadged HTC 5620), that the operating system is Windows Mobile 5, rather than Mobile 6.

This was also confirmed to me by a BT Customer Services advisor... and is also on their website.

EDIT: As I see it, anyone who is already on Option 3 should be able to upgrade to this particular package for an additional £5 per month... not a bad deal for a Windows Smartphone... even if it isn't the latest and greatest model.

(Sorry... Just realised that is virtually what the OP said anyway!)

It is Windows Mobile 6, and integrates with the BT work e-mail very well as well as BT Internet e-mail. The web browsing is good. Only problem is that I have yet to find an 'open' wifi hotspot anywhere...

For a fiver a month its a no-brainer. I've not used any of my included minutes or texts in the last 3 months, so they just roll-over all the time. I use it purely as a 'blackberry' type gizmo.
