Can people that vote cold have the courtesy to explain why - so others can benefit from the feedback (e.g. lower price somewhere else, bad experience with retailer, etc)?

Keep in mind that this is the OEM version so doesn't come boxed with a heatsink/fan and 3 year warranty which is why it's cheaper. Still the best price I've seen for the OEM and nearly posted it myself.

Voting HOT. Because those who don't have a use for quad core (currently not many applications out here thus paying a premium), this cpu more than handles multi-tasking multimedia/gaming combination.

Also cpu is easily clockable to 3.6ghz with an adequate cpu fan.

The E8*** series are based on the new 45nm core technology, and run cooler and more efficiently than other dual core processors, and i believe most of the quad cores

too hot for what? cpus can manage extreme temperatures, and thers plenty of heatsinks out there that would cool this more than efficiently

Great little 45nm cpus LOVE THEM I was having problems with a fan and mobo (dont ask) and left the cpu with NO COOLING AT ALL and it was fine at around 70-80c so they ARE NOT TOO HOT AT ALL!
