Not sure if this has been posted before but I thought I would add it and if it has then some one can remove it.

Just call 0800 100 100 from a land line and ask for a number. you have to listen to an advert about some weird and wonderful thing and then they give you your number. Damn site cheaper than 118 118 and 192.

Didn't think that was too bad myself but hey.... :)

Working 0800 100 100 Geographical Number from www.saynoto0870.com:

01635 774800

Calling from my O2/3 contract mobs on number withheld I get a message saying I need accept a text message to use the service etc press star to continue and I get through to the directory enquiry call centre.

Calling from a spare PAYG I get a prompt saying press star to get a text message to register on this service etc, I hung up...

Has anyone got any experience with registering with their system and what they send etc, does it cost, why do they do that etc?

Here's your ludicrously simple step-by-step guide to the service.

1.
You call us free on 0800 100 100
2.
One of our lovely operators in our UK call centres takes the call. This trained operator will then search for your required number
3.
You then listen to a short ad
4.
The number is now read out (This bit's automated)
5.
If you're on your mobile, a text message is then sent to you with your requested number. An offer from one of our advertisers accompanies this - so you can take up this offer at another time
6.
Should you want to take up the offer while you're on the phone, press "1" or simply stay on the line.
You'll also get an option to hear your number again

Because most mobile companies charge you over and above you call allowance for freephone calls. A straight forward landline number comes out of your call allowance.

Because 0800 numbers are charged from mobile phones, whereas anyone witrh anytime minutes can dial the regional number and it will just be taken out the free minutes allowance. Hope this helps.

probably because 0800 numbers from mobiles are not free and do not come off your free minutes. but if u use the geographical number it will come off your free minutes.
