Really, FS traders should be comfortable enough to post their eBay user name in the forum.

Giving it to a moderator and other person doing the deal just confirms they have been given the same name, but we wouldn't allow others not involved in the deal or trade to have that information..

i think the member thinks they only have to give it to a mod then, i darent post in there again, but do hope members get this before trading, i just feel by the mods post in there it is giving newbies the idea its safe, if you know what i mean

I dont think i've given that impression at all sassie. If a member doesnt want to give out an ebay id then thats up to them - i cannot force them and cannot give out the info myself.

Any buyer would have to make a judgement on the information they have been given (as with all sales) - if they are unhappy with not having the ebay id, then they should not trade .

I was given the ebay id, so i simply stated the facts - nothing more, nothing less. I'm not quite sure what you think i should have done ?

I wouldn't like to put my eBay name on here. I am more than willing to pm it to people, but not to have it on the forum itself, where it can be googled.

This is simpy because I have seen cases in the past where disputes have travelled across message boards and have gotten quite nasty. On top of that, I like to retain some level of privacy.

I was referring to member thinking, by their response, it was only needed to be given to the team. Also by their responses they couldnt understand why they had to keep giving it to a mod which sorta proves by giving it to a mod is pretty pointless, dont ya think. I then referred to the fact that newbies may see your post as confirmation it was safe to trade, i know this isnt the case and so do any regular members, but maybe not for new ones who do think mods read and monitor the boards to make sure it is safe to trade, again this is not personal against any member of the team, just sassie purely looking out for others and looking for better ways to improve the fs board, appologies if this is not how it has been seen
