The only socket mentioned on their site is a 45A cooker isolator. Of the 9 items listed under the Chrome heading, not one of them is a useful wall socket, or light switch.
I do not understand why this item is voted so hot, other than by lots of people who do not know what they are buying.

The light will come on when the switch is flicked, allowing the current to pass through to what ever its linked up to. If you hard-wire a light eg an outside security light that you might have normally plugged into a socket, yes you could use this to control a light.

But if your unsure consult a sparky (an electrician !) . (you've only one life!)
