I work for a national Newspaper and gamestation are placing an ad in tomorrow's Daily Star which is advertising the above item. I have checked online but at the mo they are sold out so unless they get more instock this deal is only available instore....
I know all about the format being dead but at this price and with a back catologue of over 400 movies available surely it's worth a punt. Certain films are still only available on hd so it makes it even more of a deal to buy something which is affordable and not going to break the bank. Hd dvd movies are now cheaper than standard dvd and even a packet of fags.

My local Gamestation was advertising bundle offers of Xbox 360 + 2 films last week. Not at this price obviously!
They were £39.99 for a used one with two films. The bizarre thing is, that branch doesn't actually stock any films.....  |

Got the Daily Star, and yep on page 23;
£24.99 HD DVD Drove + Any 2 HD DVDS** ** Priced at £7.99 each. Offer does not include pre-owned hd-dvd's. As for it being a dead format..... True... but you can't deny it has its advantages as well. I'll still be getting a PS3 for the blu-ray later in the year, but at this price i may as well get one  |

 If I got a HD LCD TV, would I need a HD dvd player to play HD dvd's to make the most of the HD TV? |

Yes - or obviously this XBox360 bargain.
Other option is to connect your PC of course (depending on your graphics card and outputs), and download HD content from your 'usual' sources Broadcast HD TV is a bit of a joke at the moment...Sky HD costs an extra £10 a month plus the cost of the box, and gives you around 10 HD channels, most of which just show upscaled old stuff. Sky Sports is probably the best HD channel (only for live games) and on Virgin, you can only get BBC HD, which runs for about 6 hours a day. |
