Ubuntu DVD Video Creating Software

POSTED BY: jarica 1 month, 2 weeks ago

Right I am new to Ubuntu and currently have 8.04 installed.

I am looking for a programme that will allow me to take a few .avi files and create a DVD with menus that will play like a normal Movie DVD.

I Used to use Nero 8 Video to do this and it worked perfectly but I have not been able to find anyhting for Linux, I have been looking honest. I downloaded NeroLinux but that only included the Nero Burning ROM.

I do not want anything that involves using the Terminal I just want a GUI that lets you add a .avi create a menu and then click a button and it does it all for you (I am lazy I know).

Does anyone know of anything like this?

Convert X to DVD - The latest version, I think it's 3.01

You can download it from any torrent site.

I downloaded mine about 2 weeks ago and I'm like a kid with a new toy. It allows you to choose any part of the episodes for animated screen shot menu icons as well as putting audio files in to the Menu.

By far the best I've come across.

If you are downloading from a torrent site get the one with the crack file, comes with instructions and easy to set up.

Dead giveaway in the title "Ubuntu DVD Video Creating Software"

Another hint in the body text: "Right I am new to Ubuntu and currently have 8.04 installed."

and another: "I have not been able to find anyhting for Linux"

hehe Nevermind, easy mistake

Oh Convert X 3 has full menu abilties. The last one I did was Season 1 of the A Team (for my son, honest) and I was able to make not only menu alterations but it sorts out root alterations also. Added to that I imbedded the theme music over the menu, I'm well happy with it.

yup though not sure if they prefer the term meta-search engine rather than aggregator .
I had a quick look and this on a first glance looks promising source of info
