e2save

POSTED BY: bl4ckvip3r 2 months, 1 week ago

I am a student looking for a good phone contract. I have looked at e2save and it looks good however i am wondering how reliable they are with the cashback? and is there any way i can ensure i dont get screwed?

The deal i am looking at is for a sony ericsson w580i on o2 for £1.99 pm (£30 before cb) but... i would like the sony ericsson w910i... so would i be able to buy the w910 and then get this contract.... and then sell the phone i get in the contract, and use the sim in my new w910? or would this not work or void the contract?

Thanks

You will be able too, so long as you pay the contract, no probs.

As for w580i, do sell it, i'm selling mine, only had it a month, stupid keypad cracking etc.

Getting my w910i def jam tomorrow

Yes, you can technically sell the phone on without any problems. Just make sure that the W910i is for the same network as the contract or unlocked!!

Click here for my tips on how to succeed with a cashback contract.

I've never had any problems with e2save. I think they're making it easier to claim cashback to, in an attempt to pre-empt the OFCOM rules which will be put in place this summer.

The main problem that people have had with cashback contracts is that the firm goes bust. e2save is owned by Carphone Warehouse so the chances of this are greatly reduced.

Another problem people have is missing the claim date (by forgetting to send it off), sending the claims late or sending the wrong bill. e2save now offer a brilliant 60 days to make a claim and they also tell you which bills to send in on your account on the e2save website after you have ordered.

Remember to read the thread above. It'll be the key to your success. I can't stress how important recorded delivery is.

They have been one of the most reliable and the government is currently taking more interest in ensuring that companies live up to their obligations which should help. However the terms and conditions for obtaining the cashback are fairly rigid - which is where a lot of people slip up and of course companies like this count on that. However if you are the type of person who can put all the relevant dates and actions on the computer and ensure you comply with them on time and to the letter then the cashback should be paid - although sometimes a bit late.

As I said above, they've extended the claim period back to 60 days and are putting the specific bills you need to send off on their website, which should help things.

I think the T&Cs there are more lenient now than they've been since these deals went mainstream thanks to sites *such as* HotUKDeals and MSE. The deals aren't quite as good as they used to be (a death of 12 months free contracts) but it'd be worth it if it meant more people got their cashback.

EDIT: Oh yes, I forgot to add something!! You can download the claim forms from their website too, which means that they can't "forget" ot send them to you like some other sites used to.

No, as e2save aren't the people providing your mobile phone service. You'd have to ring your network (orange, o2, etc) as they are the people who the 12 month contract is with. I doubt they would let you off the contract. They'd let you move to a more expensive one, but that'd void your contract in a lot of cases.

e2save are just a middle-man who sell phones and offer cashback from the commissions which they receive from the networks.

I guess they'd do that with their commission money and she probably doesn't get any (or much) cashback?

I have just looked over the terms etc.... and it says for gifts below £50 ... etc.. Does this mean the total cashback for the 12month contract or each installment?

And when it says send bills 4, 6 , 8 and 12 ... does that mean as soon as i get the 4th bill i send just that off? or do i send bills 1 2 3 and 4 when i get the 4th bill etc?

And by sending it recorded does that mean that i will have proof that it is sent and recieved by them so if they loose it i would still get the cashback?

Total contract.

I think it's just the 4th. They'll add all of the dates you need to send them to the "My Account" section of their site when you've ordered, and the claim vouchers should make it all clear.

I would expect so. You can prove you sent it AND you can prove that it reached them. If they don't have it then it's their fault...

The reason I say it is that when there used to be LOTS of these companies about there were the odd few who would pretend that things hadn't arrived in the post. Always better to be safe than sorry.

They used to allow people to do this after 6 months but these days it would more than likely cause problems with the cashback. So the short answer would be "no".
