Visiting Scarborough Area Half Term

POSTED BY: Norfolk12a1 2 months, 1 week ago

Can anybody recommend any good places to visit in the area?
We have 2 children 8 & 6.
Planning to visit Flamingo Land, using tesco vouchers!!
But wanting some local advice on good swimming pools & outdoor things to do.
Wanting to go on North Yorks Railway, but seems quite expensive does anybody know of any vouchers for this?
Many Thanks

There is a water park there called Kinderland in North Bay but I wouldnt recommend it on a cold day
There is also a sealife centre which is quite good for children.
Best bet is to go on beach (weather permitting), have a donkey ride and an ice cream, go to arcade (tuppenny falls) and finish day with fish and chips - Perfect!!!

theres a rock factory a short drive away (if I'm remembering right) you can do a tour and make your own chocolate lolley there was a small factory shop attached as well might be good for pressies. Hope you have a good time we love scarbough. haven't been for a couple of years though so hope its still there. If you gat a really wet day there was a big soft play place on the industrial estats near the morrisons. (hope you don't need this) we went once it also had a paint pots type place in it were you could paint an ornament or plate etc.

If the weather's nice and you have transport go to Whitby and to Robin Hood's Bay - both really beautiful. Used to take my sons when they were little!

You can always drive there... Real name is Goathland.

Not much there but nice to say, "I've been there!" every time you watch Heartbeat repeats..LOL.

Yep I agree, just looking for some nice places to visit, 1 day at a theme park is enough!

Thought Castle Howard might be worth a look?

Agree with previous comments regarding North Yorks railway still trying to find vouchers for this, does anybody know if any exist?

ta

I've never found vouchers for the railway. Your kids might find Castle Howard a little dry - it's really aimed at adults! Have a brilliant time.

I took the kids to Leeds Castle in Maidstone quite a while back and they enjoyed it,mind you the grounds where beautiful and there quite a bit more for them to do there probably for kids within grounds.
