The one Poundland sell is exactly the same as the picture which I 'stole' from Play.com who have the cheek to sell these at £9.99!!!

some people in poor countries earn only a pound a day... poundland is really good for somethings but i would never attach an item from there to my pc... not when it cost a bunch of poor peoples annual salaries!!!

I have purchased three of these. All work perfectly if you wish to read from a card, however, only one will write - just gives me a write protect error. Someone took one apart for the previous thread and highlighted an issue with the write protect mechnaism.
Biggest card I have used so far is a 2gb SD card.

I've seen these online for 30p each.

Can't remember where but it was somewhere that sells SD cards (like amazon or ebuyer)

Looks like we have another Fairtrade supporter. Do a Google on Fairtrade (and maybe pick up a basic book on Economics and read the first chapter) before you jump to the conclusion that boycotting cheap imported products is likely to benefit poorer people.

When you've done that, you could actually do some good for these people by lobbying your local MP to get EU import tariffs removed. Then get yourself down to Poundland and go wild!
