360 or wii or ps3 for a 10 year old?

I think 360's and PS3's better for boys or Wii's better for girls of that age, but thats just going on personal experience

360 or PS3 deffinately if he is well in to his consoles (my 12 year old lad hardly ever plays on the Wii)

Is he into his gaming? does he like to play games alot? if so then get a 360 or a ps3. if he just plays now and then get him a Wii

if he gets 360 he can still play some of his gamesso you wont have to fork out so much for new games

The PS3 will have the longest production cycle and is the most reliable of the next generation consoles.

The Wii currently is popular and has cheap games but it is a now generation console and will be outdated very soon, the extra added and sometimes necessary gimmick add-ons are also expensive.

The Xbox 360 is popular partially down to the hacking ability, it doesn't have a good collection of game but is the most unreliable console currently on the market, a plus is the price point which currently has it costing less than a nintendo Wii and the abundance of cheap used games makes a good choice for a youngster.

I would recommend a PS3 because you wont have to buy another console for at least 6 years which would follow the cycle of the PS1 and PS2, second i would recommend the Xbox 360 but with a wired controller and third the Wii because his friends wont be getting this console and he will no doubt be wanting one of the other two to trade games with his pals.
