anyone know how to travel from birmingham to southport pontins cheap???

I got me and the girlfriend to London and back for £26 (thats together, not each).

tried but can't seem to find a direct coach to southport from birmingham

what about megabus? do they have a service as was from £1?

megabus do not go to southport direct either

I don't know of any direct way to Pontins Southport. Its not in the middle of Southport.

The best way I can think of is to get a train to liverpool South Parkway station or Liverpool Lime Street and then get the merseyrail train towards Southport and get off at Birkdale station which is the closest station (these run every 15 mins during the day) You can then walk down to Pontins, think its about 10-15 mins or get a taxi which should only cost a couple of £. Not cheap tho, at £36 each, although a family railcard might be a good investment Its £18.20 each on National express Birmingham to Liverpool return (3 hours) and you could then get the train to birkdale @ £3.95 each, each way. I hope this helps

I second what Andy says, get the train. National express service isn't very regular, direct from Birmingham anyway* - not sure from Liverpool, but it takes alot of time, and isn't that much cheaper.

With a railcard southport return was only £22, which is good, but obviously you'd need to get a card? If you're going with family might be a good investment.

just one thing, do NOT expect it to be upto much, not the best pontins around, but seen as it was free it wont hurt to try it out
