The New NHS Minor Ailment Service at Your Community Pharmacy

27°

FOUND BY: lovabargain 1 year, 6 months ago

Everyone can go to their pharmacist for advice or to buy a medicine for a minor illness or ailment.
But this is a new NHS service for people, including children, who don't pay prescription charges. It means that if your pharmacist thinks you need it then they can give you a medicine on the NHS without you having to pay for it. It will also save you making an appointment with your GP simply to get a prescription.

WHO IS THE SERVICE FOR?
You can use the NHS Minor Ailment Service if:

you are registered with a GP surgery in Scotland, and
you don't pay for your prescriptions, and
you don't live in a nursing or residential care home.
i AM SURE IT IS IN ENGLAND TOO,

SO THINGS LIKE SUDOCREM PARACETAMOL , ETC ARE ALL FREE

This is what I pay my taxes for?

What a joke....

And put 'Scotland only' in the title, so the people who can't be bothered at actually read it will vote cold, as they should do.

Just before world war 3 breaks out, I live in the North West, and I have had what I was told was called a 'passport' for this service for my 2 year old, for months! If your under 16 has a temp, nits, cold, nappy rash....etc, you take your card to a participating pharmacy, explain your problem, and they give you the meds for free!!!! (within reson, they have a list of stuff they can give you) If the problem requires a doc to have a look, they will tell you!
I have had calpol and ibuprofen using this service.
Guess you just have to know about it, and ask! I use my local asda pharmacy!
