Sorry, but a bit off topic ....
I suffer from occasional migraines.
I colleague at work, in a similar position, tells me that the refresh rates on some TFT backlights can cause this.
Any advice on this topic would be appreciated.
Thanks, Pil064
If it is a big old crt monitor then it is usually to do with the refresh rate, 60hz is awful. However when it comes to tfts refresh rates work a bit differently as they are fixed at one refresh rate, usually 75hz
the higher the refresh rate the better. Do you wear glasses, if not it might be time to have a word with your local optometrist about glasses for computer work. Regular breaks help even if only for 5 or 10 minutes every hour or so. Your place of work by law has to offer "eye breaks" when computers are involved as it falls under health and safety. You may find adjusting the brightness a little will help as workplace tfts are generally untouched, it could be too bright or even set to the wrong resolution. we have monitors in our break area set to 1024x768 when they should be 1280x1024.
Hope this helps but i doubt its something as drastic as monitor panels, its sadly either your eyes or just a few tweaks to the monitors display settings.
i should get some rep for providing this level of service
