dragonzuiko:
Nice pictures,i still have my e1 and E330,but the price is tempting.
the new e-520 is on pre-order for £ 600 with just 1 lens. it has a better live view, ( was it needed ? ) like the e-330 system, but for half the price the e-510 is an amazing bargain......
I used to own the e-330, but returned it, as nearly all my shots were blurred.....I couldnt take any handheld shots indoors, without flash , at even 1600 ISO without getting blurry images
with the IS on the e-510 I can get sharper shots than the e-330 , right down to 1/2sec exposure ! and perfectly sharp at say 1/5s. all handheld indoor shots. At 1/10s you can take shots all day long and the IS will ensure they are totally blur free.
I wouldnt buy any camera these days without an IS system, not for allround use anyway.
Having said that, I prefer the look of the e-330. with its viewfinder on the left edge, and flip out screen, but it was a right heavy beast compared to the e-510.
for anyone not needing / wanting the zoom lens, sell them on ebay for £ 80, and you end up having paid just £ 270 for the e-510+14-42mm lens !!!!
NOTES:- I shoot always in RAW mode , and then adjust WB , contrast , highlights on the pc...... I think a lot of people shooting JPG
(on any SLR) are getting poor images if the WB isnt set precisely, which it almost never is.... with Raw u can set it afterwards, so u essentially have an electronic negative of the digital image.... the 14-42mm lens has been tested to be at its peak sharpness at 35mm and F8 , thus I always just use A priority mode, set it to F8 and zoom to 35mm unless I really need a wider angle. have got some great results on this sub £ 500 package........ I think too may people are buying into brand names , and then setting the cameras on auto, shooting as JPGs and ending up with shots that couldve been better taking on a compact with a little know how...... I also find it funny how some people think that brand A is the best, or brand B is, when they dont know how to take a pic unless they use the auto mode......nothing wrong in auto modes, but its not a platform to start judging which cameras are better than others (!)
Im quite new to SLRs and have been stunned by how so many people are focused on brand names, rather than overall quality....... It may just be in the UK ( ? ) as the E-510 was the best selling camera ( in its class ) in europe last year.
