Here's a shiny new one though- Please post any links to free legal downloads that you come across, state what it is, which category you want it adding to and provide a link.
I'll add the link & who posted it into the correct category each time I update the thread (and I won't break it this time!!!)

Absolutely brilliant free disk defragmenter for windows - I know windows has one, but this is better, it can run even if your disk is nearly full up, and moves frequently used files to faster parts of the disk. http://www.kessels.com/Jkdefrag/ Just double click to run if you aren't a nerd, and leave it for a while to speed up your PC. VLC media player plays just about anything regardless of codec and format of both video and audio and has just about every playback option you could ever need to 'tweak' your playback. Best video player out there IMO: VLC MPC (media player classic) Stripped down version of Media Player for those who don't like the uber-cluttered version you now get from Microsoft: Media Player Classic (lots of other handy tools on there but look for 'media player classic')
