You can do this a lot cheaper buy buying a VO/VI graphics card,or a break out box and just connect your video (and loads of other stuff) I have a Miglia breakout box, that does everything and was about £70 if I remember right on evilbay. Handy, and convenient, but a bit pricey I think

Agreed.

I think this is very expensive.

Most people have an old video player knocking about, so all you need is an analogue video card, such as this one for under £25.

And.. If you don't want the hassle of cracking your PC open, and want USB...

Then this for £9 is all you need.

They do yes and you normally get the stuff in a week if it is in stock and shipping is free, personally one of my fave sites on the net.

Don't want to seem picky, but why don't any of these things ever sport a scart socket? How difficult would it be, exactly?

Cracking deal from DealExtreme, though. Hadn't seen that one.

You want to have a pretty fast pc to use something to convert that doesn't do it on board. If your pc's a bit slow you are likely to get jerky pictures.

True but i think this should be ok for just about any recent pc, most important is using a USB 2.0 port.

Yeah, but regardless... I'd rather spend £9 on a capture device £140 on upgrading my pc than to spend £149 on that USB capture device.
