i have 250gb version of this which i bought quite a while back and have not had one problem at all.
Plug and play so anybody with half a wit can use they are fast silent and good looking too excellent buy would definately recomend.

I agree with cullet16, I also have the 250gb version of this, and it is awesome, very quiet in operation and whilst it is being used, the vertical orange bar pulses on and off, it looks fab!, very slim with a heavy base. I can't comment about the price of this one advertised, I paid about £50 for my 250gb, but I would be recommend this product to people.

you're better off using the avforums postage offer rather than hexus. Hexus requires a certain number of posts to qualify. I dont think they'd be too pleased with a sudden surge of spamming posts to get people's post counts up.

any idea if this uses 1 hard drive instead of 2? And if its noisy with fan noise?

I might be replacing my iomega one which has 2 X 500GB hard drives and 2 fans that make more noise than my xbox and xbox 360....

Have the 500GB version of this i got for £50. Great hard drive, quiet and reliable so far. 5 year guarantee is pretty good too for a hard drive.

Wow great find, still debating whether I can afford it even at this price.

Did some research on this and it looks lke this is going cheap because it's the older version, new version can use Firewire 400 and eSATA as well as USB 2.0. Doesn't really bother me but thought I'd post it in case it would be useful to anyone else, the new version does cost an extra £30 though.

This is definately worth bearing in mind as the average throughput of USB is around half that of either FW800 or eSATA, regardless of the model of drive inside. Interesting that you quote FW400 for the new model, I thought everyone was using FW800 in their new models.

Yeah I was a bit disappointed, can't use eSATA since I'm using an Apple but FW800 would have been sweet.

That said unless you're transferring enormous amounts of data on a regular basis USB is perfectly adequate, it also means I can use it in my hub rather than taking up an extra port on the computer.
