Fantastic price. Overkill for most users as a core2duo will do in most cases, but still a great CPU and multiple cores are the future of PCs.

There is a scheduled Intel price drop 20th July.

It may be worth waiting a week to save a few more pounds.

Looks like you'll have a P965 board.......could check for bios updates but I wouldn't put a nice quad chip in that box.

That's a good find, this is a fairly old processor now but great for overclocking - have mine running at 3.2GHz without any problems

It is a great processor (I bought the 3rd G0 stepping one to arrive in the UK for £190 last year and got it to 3.4Ghz straight away) but I am not sure it is worth this amount of money anymore when the new real next gen of chips is going to be after xmas. If you are not in a hurry to update wait until then, if you need a computer now then it is a good find

It's been on Superspecial for at least a month now, at what point does it just become the actual price!

Generally it's not a good idea to start buying individual computer components when you don't know how to check what motherboard you have and only refer to your computer by the name and model number given to it by the manufacturer.

Quad core is better then duo core right? But is it twice as better or is it the same old trick like camera MP's?
