Xbox 360 Official 120GB Hard Drive - £74.99 @ Toys R Us In-Store

£74.99

As seen today in Toys R Us. If, like myself, you have a Comet nearby too, they'll price-match and give you 10% off the difference back, so Comets £99.99 turned into £72.49! PC World do something similar which I think works out even cheaper.

Seen in-store in Shrewsbury Toys R Us.

Double the exposure .

Now let's see, 20GB for £69.99 or 120GB for £74.99 that's a hard choice to make .

What are TRU thinking....

More impressive (for me, after getting the hard drive) is the quality of the photo, taken on my lovely new iPhone. Looks better than on the actual iPhone!

FYI: The PC World price promise (taken from website today 17/7) if you're claiming at a store on basis of "nearby" Toys R Us is:

"If you find a lower price for the same product and offer, we'll reduce our price by 110% of the difference – even up to 7 days after purchase. This applies to prices offered by retailers within 30 miles of your local PC World store and the UK websites listed below. The competitor must have the item in stock and website prices must include delivery. Single unit purchases only. "

PC World product code 035349 = £89.99 (was £129.99) so £15 dearer, so w/be £1.50 cheaper after any claim, ie £89.99- (£89.99-£74.99)*1.10) = £89.99 - £16.50 = £73.49
Of course if you could find a PC world with it still showing at £129.99 then difference of £55 so £5.50 cheaper.

(If you're planning a website purchase then Toys R Us is included in price comparison but PCW del is £4.95 and no sign of the 120GB on Toys R Us website ?)

Occasionally, there are buyers who think they wont use more than 20GB so might as well save £5

I hate how microsoft restricts a common format (the hard drive) and monopolises it to give it an excuse to make the prices ridiculously high. I bought a 500Gb hard drive a year ago for less than this, and I bet this special "official xbox 360 hard drive" is just a regular PC or laptop hard drive in a case.

Still got the Standard 20 gig and had it in 3 Xbox's over the years... only used 6 gig, and aint even got a clue what the 6 gig is lol..

Never gonna use the 120 gig, unless u wanna store all of your Movies, Games and MP3 collection... if so, purchase an external 500 gig for 56 quid...

And Top Marks to mk-donald for the MATHS Test lol

Word is that the next 360 update coming in the next few months will let you copy games to the hard drive to cut down on noise, drive wear.

Yep, as mentioned here...

http://majornelson.com/archive/2008/...plus-more.aspx

For anyone else that hasn't heard of the above feature, you will still need to put the game disc in the drive before you start playing. Obviously this is to verify that you own the game. Once that's done it will the loading from the hard drive
