POSTED BY: kobirulali 5 months, 2 weeks ago

Long story short, i'm about to buy a 51 plate Ford Mondeo car that uses a double Din slot, i could get an adapter and use my old Sony MEX-BT5000 (and have a new cubby hole), but i thiught to myself why don't i get a new double din one one.

The features i want are in this order:
* Bluetooth
* USB/SD card Slot
* Sound Quality
* Looks
* Build Quality/service from manufactuer or seller

Would these fit perfectly in a mondeo dashboard (If you remove the ford radio/cd does it leave a double din slot ?

I have a 53 plate (facelifted) mondeo and the cd player is bigger than in the 51 reg model but I went for a single din sony mp3 cd with an adapter... BUT would love a double din player instead of it.......

I'm just away to sell the 'third' on your list if you are interested. I totally love it, but it doesn't sit as flush in my curved dash as I would like

What car is it in? I've just read somewhere that the Mondeo is a 1.5 Din looking into it now........

Forgot to ask, how well does the bluetooth calling work and how good is the sound quality? How much are you lloking to sell it for?

Ok after a bit of reasearch i found this link:
http://www.stdrivers.co.uk/forum/sho....php?tid/8565/

Jonsen's comment at the end confirms that my potential buy is NOT double Din , but the facelifted is nearly a double din. Hope that helps you.

The dimensions are above. The Bluetooth is by far the best part. The quality is crystal clear. The USB is also good. And watching a DVD is good. Oh, watching the TV is good too....sometimes I listen to the radio too!! But, alas, my dasy curves and it just sticks out at the top a bit (probably 5mm), but looks silly as my stereo is the highest of the centre console. It looks like it would fit in the 'facelifted' photo from a shape perspective. (i.e. not stick out).

I would want £120 as I bought it for £157 a few months ago... Still boxed, etc (In my car at the moment though!!)

I don't think i can buy it now, as much as i want to. I wasn't even going to really haggle you, £120 sounds fair, but upon reading up on the car i have to stick to single din by using:
http://www.caraudiodirect.co.uk/ford...d8433d03a7851a

It may be possible for me to do a custom job, but i'm not confident enough

D'oh all this effort finding them only to realise i can't use them without modyfying Cheers for your input (and keeping the thread going!)

no probs... you should try and get the single motorised screen from the seller 'blacknovatech' or something like that. They are about £250, but with all the same features

yeah, they are a good seller. I asked for some extra bits at a later date, and they sent them for the cost of postage...
