also if you want to change the modem style at the end of the web address where it is numbered "005" change it to either 001,002,003,004,005, or 006 for instance 004 is the ZTE modem

This is a good deal if you are entirely sure you will stay under the 5GB a month.

However, previously there had been problems with people unwittingly exceeding their limit and being hit with bills into thousands of pounds.

I checked the site for the out of bundle rate - I never found it - its not easy to find. Make sure you know what it is before you take out the deal.

I did manage to find one example of out of bundle pricing, but in the 15GB a month package. Which in turn makes you wonder why its not easy to find for all?

http://threestore.three.co.uk/plande...x?tariffid=898

:
Out of Bundle charge (Per MB) £0.10
So outwith your bundle its £102.40 per extra gig.

I think this pricing structure can only be seen as a con - and intended to catch people out.

Why is it a con? It clearly tells you how much data you can use and the price is excellent compared to its competitors.
It all depends on how much you need. I pay £5 per month for 1gb which is fine for general surfing/email. The most I've used in a month is 600mb so I'm sure 5gb is going to be fine for a lot of people.
Voted hot.

Yeah - as if that pricing is correct across the board - then if you accidentally use twice what you intended - what they thought was OK to charge you £7.50 for - suddenly increases to £512.00 for the next 5GB.

Price structures like that are a con and should clearly be banned.

Sorry - but are you trying to advocate charging £512.00 for the next 5GB is anything other than a con?

Anyone with the misfortune of getting a virus that 'bots' their PC into sending spam risks getting not only a virus and an inconvenience - but also a bill that is likely to go into thousands.

In the article I read - they let the customer's bill reach well over £30, 000 before they started chasing him for it.

Remember and turn yours off at night now!

5gb per month is nothing! I would only use an unlimited service but check the 'fair user policy' of the ISP BEFORE you subscribe. This offer is too expensive, cold.

That logic doesnt really work.

Say theres a deal for £5 inc 100mins and 100 texts.

But instead you use 200mins and 200 texts, so they charge you 30p x 100 and 12p x 100 out of bundle for an extra £42... you cant expect to just pay an extra £5...

Clearly this deal isnt for you if you intend to use 10GB, out of bundle chages is where they make their money and is pretty normal (granted this is slightly more extreme)... Go for higher tariff if that is your requirements.

IMO this is a good deal.

Seriously interested in this, as it seems the perfect compliment to the eee 901 I am awaiting.

This time around doesn't seem to be a way to edit the url to make the 1gb package half price. Shame as that would have been more tempting (1gb for £5).

I would love to know if anyone with experience of the various 3 modems could share their knowledge. I have narrowed it down to the two stick types, as it seems to defeat the purpose to go for one that needs a cable, even if they are better quality wise. So, anyone know the diffs between the 'E160 stick' and the plain 'usb stick'?

OK - include in your post....

:
£102.40 charged per extra gig
...and see if the deal continues getting heat.

A £7.50 deal for 5 gig would be good if it was charged at a couple of quid a gig if you went over - but the entire price structure is a con - and there should also be protection to prevent massive bills being accumulated without prior warning.

This is cheap, voted hot.

Also a couple of points:

1: Three will send you a message to your modem when you are about to reach your agreed bandwidth.

2: Three will, at request, limit your usage to your chosen tariff with a credit limit of zero

3: This is by far the cheapest on the market for 5GB
