# Upgraded for Freeview Playback later in 2007 via an automatically downloaded free Over Air Download
# Pause live TV and rewind live TV
# One touch recording from 8 day programme guide
# Tape-less record and playback (Max 100 hrs on 160GB hard drive)
# USB 2.0 port for connecting to your computer to archive your favourite programmes to DVD
# Dolby 5.1 optical output

I paid £154 for mine and it's probably the only gadget that SWMBO has approved of without reservation (though she's warming to the TH37PX80 )

Does this only record through the Freeview turner or can you use it to record from cable?

The 320Gb one is only £129 + delivery

Both the 160 and 320 ones are great deals. I've had one for a few years now and its the best thing I ever bought!

Direct link for 160 Gb ones

Black or Silver

The series link on these is amazing and coming from HumaxDirect I would have thought they would have the latest firmware in to allow this. If not as stated you can always update it over the air (or via internet)

this is a great deal. mine was about £180 new about a year ago and that was the best price at the time. price has slipped down by about £20 at times so still a great saving. its one if the best freeview pvrs on the market. you can also connect to your pc and copy files back and forth to burn to DVD. it can also be loaded with a few gigs of MP3s like an iPod. you are best to google up third party software and guides if you do want to rip stuff to the pc as the bundled software is **** yet the homegrown freeware is excellent and easy to use.

Didn't realise you could upload stuff to it as well. So you could rip your favourite DVDs to the PC and then put them on this to have instantly available.
Off to google latter ....

I love mine so very hot!

Wish the beggars at Humax would sort a firmware that stored the EPG to disk though. Having to wait a few minutes after turning on, whilst it populates, before you can set a reservation, is a pain in the backside.

We love ours, wouldn't be without it, reliable and easy to use. A recent update(Jan) gave it a series link function, which works great. At £99 its a complete steal, HOT

I very useful forum for the Humax is: - http://www.hummy.org.uk/forums/

Hope this helps
All the best,
Ash

This is a really good machine. It has transformed the way we watch telly. Best part of £200 when I bought it and never regretted a penny!

Ahh, I assume you turn it off at the mains?

The only things that have irritated me about my Humax 8000T (so pretty old now) are:
1. Occasionally 'glitches' and decides to record one channel til it fills the hard disc.
2. Occasionally crashes when it boots to record a scheduled programme and can't reset itself automatically so you miss everything.
3. Mine has no series-link function or record same time on weekdays only.

I will definitely buy my next one from Humax though.
