If you don't want to risk this, you can join directly with our National Trust for £41.50 which is for 2 adults and (I think) 3 children. The full price is £82 for a year, but if you go through quidco you get £20 and they also then offer 12 months for the price of 9 for £61.50 making it £41.50 in total. As a bonus you also get a pair of binoculars that OK, most of us probably don't need but my daughter thinks they're fab.

We joined 2 months ago and have already been to Belton House 4 times (they have the most amazing adventure playground that any kids will love) and it's £20+ for a family of four to get in there normally so we've more than made our money back, and still another 10 months to go. I never in a million years thought that I would join the National Trust, thought it was a really sad thing to do (sorry all you members) but since joining, I'm hooked, it's great going out for the day for free after you've recouped your original cost so is highly recommended!

The National Trust is no more "British" than the "Scottish National Trust" is!

New Zealand is one of the most egalitarian nations on the planet.

Its better knowing your money is going to somewhere where its likely to benefit people in general rather than fund some old boys network in the UK.

Well said both of you!

If the National Trust was bothered they would stop it, in fact you could have joined whilst on holiday in New Zealand. I'm sure they are happy for the extra income from food purchases and other sales as mumofsix pointed out....

Found this on the national trust website.
Your membership will get you FREE admission to properties cared for by the National Trust for Scotland.
We also have agreements with a number of other countries. If you’re visiting any of these places and have a valid membership card, you could visit their National Trust facilities for FREE or at a concessionary rate.
There are 13 countries with similar organisations with whom the National Trust has reciprocal visiting arrangements for its members.

We joined th Barbados National Trust when we were on honeymoon! (15 years ago!). This was a fraction of the cost of NT here and was a great conversation starter with the staff at all the properties we visited back home. I still have the membership card in the wedding album........ahhhh!

I can't believe there's no extra charge for postage to the UK. It's not as if NZ is just across the Channel or something.

Thanks for the deal. Went for it, as I bought my parents the UK membership. Hopefully we will be able to join them on their trips out now.
