That is a great price! Very tempted. Most 512MB cards are more than this with the poor standard cooler!

Is AVForums free postage still working, how do you get it to work, I'm struggling.

you can get it from Hexus though. You need 25+ posts (no spam ofc) in order to get it but their are good forums and you should be able to get them in less than a week

Unless you do alot of 3D rendering (not in game 3D rendering, Lighwave, 3DS Max etc) the 1Gb card offers no performance increase over the 512Mb card.

Although considering its a similar price to most 512Mb cards you may as well go for the extra memory with the much better cooler on this card, so its hot from me, although ill be waiting for the Sapphire 4850 TOXIC edition which is due out very soon, again with a much better cooler (Zalman heatpipe) than standard but higher clock speeds, 8-10% performance increase over reference cards.

Minstadave did you ever get round to clocking that 3850 512Mb from Scan back in May?
I slapped a Zalman VF-900 on it and run it at 800/1020, will do the pencil mod eventually but contemplating going straight to a 4850 anyway

Depends on how long you keep the card, games will alway use increasing amounts of memory, so it may become useful later.

Remember this has got a very good 3 years warranty back to Scan (not Asus that take ages!).

ATi Graphics cards usually have got 2 years ...

At the moment it is on pre order for £152.74 plus delivered at Overclockers.

It is even competitive with the 512MB models, that can be found for £117!!!

This review http://my.ocworkbench.com/2008/asus/...view-intro.htm shows that the 512mb version comes with 1 x 2molex -> 6pin cable. As such, I would expect the 1Gb version to do the same
