the 1gb works out to be £93 odd

Scan offer 3-5 yr warranty tho (Arie & Ebuyer are 1 yr)

great deal! i just ordered one. i'm a new hexus member but i have 20 posts so got the free delivery.

i held off buying from ebuyer as i needed another SATA card for my pc so i could have 3 SATA drives internally, and scan had the pci-e controller at £15, but the F1 was £90 until yesterday

this is my second 1TB drive, i'm basically using it so i can have a full backup of my first drive, my 3rd sata drive is a small 80gig boot drive with my windows install

the free fan with the drive is a bonus, i'm not sure if i'll use it or not, but it might come in handy

thanks for the headsup

But Samsung handle the warranty after the first year.... so that statement was a little misleading.

Just ordered a couple of the 750's purely for .avi storage/playback,and will probably find a couple of suitable caddies somewhere,so I can just plug 'em straight into the telly or DVD recorder.

Almost as cheap, less hassle, and most definitely less time consuming than burning stuff to DVD/CD these days.

Therefore I voted hot on this one, though I realise it probably wouldn't float everyone's boat.

I’d rather have the warranty with Samsung directly as from my experience their RMA service was very quick; 3 days from mailing the drive to receiving a replacement. I doubt Scan would match that.

Can confirm they both appear to be fine, and absolutely P all over the replaced WD's regarding transfer rate (peak and average) by anywhere between 20+25%,plus they appear to run about 7 degrees cooler, even though the ambient temp's are now much higher, due to that often evasive ball of fire in the sky making an increasingly rare appearance.
