4 Plug Gang Socket Extention Lead Just £1 @ Poundland

£1.00

58°

FOUND BY: Victim 1 year, 3 months ago

Spotted this in my local Poundland today, though it was quite good as they are usually quite a bit more in other shops.

In-Store only as poundland do not offer online shopping, although the product can be viewed online: http://www.poundland.co.uk/pages/offers/diy.aspx

There is one problem tho, I complain that the lead is too short. It's about 30cm (Not good)

Yeah, I'd much rather burn my house down with a 99p extension lead than a £1 one

These have been in Poundland and 99p shops for well over a year now.
They are fine, but as previously mentioned, the lead is way too short.

Why on earth are you looking to burn your house down?

Anyway, up to you, but could I suggest the 4p off a litre of petrol may be a better suited deal for you? Not sure that is a reason to criticise this thread though.

Are you all seriously going to buy one of these "cheap" extension leads to plug in all your expensive TV equipment / Audio Equipment or Computer stuff or worse still left on 24/7 in a child's bedroom in the hope that it will just cut out if anything goes wrong?
You can buy a quality one from a known brand for about £5 with a decent length lead. Some people have a strange way of trying to save money

ffs there are many different ways of using this I have one in my garage for the Low-voltage garden lights also @ Christmas I use 6 of these around the house for the decorations. As for more expensive extensions. My laptop blew a chip on the Ethernet port despite being routed though an named spike suppression extension with port protection Used wisely this will not burn the house down

It's good to see you understand the risks of using these.. how many people getting these will show as much common sense? IMHO electricity is one area where you don't want to cut corners on safety for the sake of saving a couple of pounds

All products sold in shops or anywhere have to undergo a safety test. Obviously the plug socket will undergo a electricity safety test, and if it does not pass it, it will not be allowed on sale. So i really don't see what your all going mad about.

I have 3 extension leads in my room, one for the PS3, TV, Alarm & Fan. The 2nd one for the the PC speakers, microphone charger and loadsof other stuff including another very large fan.

I've never had any problems and it's been like that for years. I use 2 of these extension leads and another slightly more expensive one.

Used 2 of these for 3 years now, zero problems.

Plus, the short leads can be an advantage when you just want to hook up all your devices without using those 2 or 3 in 1 adapters. These are better and more flexible.

Its been around for many years though this "offer".

Cheers,
Mark

Where can you buy a 4 gang extention lead for £5 that "will just cut out if anything goes wrong" ?

Oh, look we've got Mario, the Health & Safety expert posting here.

Since you seem to suggest you fully understand the risks associated with this item, could you 'facilitate' sharing that knowledge with us by posting a copy of your complete risk assessment of this item please?

I've posted on here without having to swear (all be it in initials) or throw insults at anyone, others on here have said how good this is because of how much they can plug in without it blowing a fuse. I think that just proves my point how bad this item is. At the end of the day it's your money and you can buy what you want.. it's also your family - your equipment and your house. My final words on this item so you can now throw all the insults you wish without any fear of retaliation
