POSTED BY: steffcip 3 years, 7 months ago

Hi all,
I am looking to sell my trusty rock XTi notebook ( http://www.rockdirect.com/notebooks/xtremeti_cons.htm http://www.rockdirect.com/notebooks/xtremeti_cons.htm )

I'm selling to buy a core2duo notebook. The notebook is in great shape, no scratches, 2 years and 1 month Warranty left collect and return. I can transfer the Warranty to the buyer's name.

[U Benchmark tests
3DMark03 - 10,657
3DMark05 - 5,139
3DMark06 - 1,771

If you configure the 3.4 model on rock's website ( http://www.rockdirect.com/rockshop/shophome.php?itemprcd=XTI-3.4 http://www.rockdirect.com/rockshop/shophome.php?itemprcd=XTI-3.4 ) set the options as follows:

- 2gb ram ddr2 533
- hard drive: 60gb 7200 rpm
- 2nd hard drive: 100gb 5400rpm
- optical drive: 8x slot dual layer dvd
- add optical drive: 8x dvd dual layer
- graphics: ati x800xt
- tft: standard is 1680x1050, there is no 1920x1200 upgrade: I paid £100+VAT for this upgrade
- additional features: 30-day zero dead pixel guarantee: NO dead pixels as they made sure the new screen had none (the new screen has been fitted 2-3 months ago)
- extra Creative Audigy 2 ZS which is new about £80

Total including the screen upgrade and Creative card comes to £2,138.60 including VAT and delivery.

I am looking to sell it for about £1,500 inc all. Let me know your price if you are looking to buy.

I would say ebay is a better bet, 1600 is a lot of money for a secondhand machine especially with the toasty desktop P4 and older X800.

I see 2x HDD for 160gb ..... you can get one nowadays internal for about £50+VAT!!!

Screen is sometimes not the most important feature, although it does have it's value.

No offence bud, but forget about CAR, dont you think £1500 for 3.4 P4 is a bit OTT ?

Anyway, good luck to you sale!

to be honest its very unlikely ur gonna sell that for £1,500

for that money u can get a dual core cpu laptop
1gb is more than enough ram
a 7900GS or near

althought u paid 2k+ for it like a car this value diminshes heavily making the buyer lose out

and i think this laptop is pretty big and heavy?

not good for mobile users

sorry just pointing it out

I'm very sure those hdds are for desktops and NOT laptops
and please don't speak like that here... find another thread for words like that...

yes it's big and heavy
is a DTR - desktop replacemement
it's much easier to be moved in the house than a desktop machine and no cables around... just close the screen, take the power supply and move it in another office or another room.... it's to be used in mains and is not meant to those who need a mobile machine... for this reason I bought it and there are others who are looking the same

that's OK

Hi Steff, I edited out the eBay link as it is against forum rules to directly link to a seller. I know that in this case you weren't doing anything untoward, but I'm just sticking to the letter of the rules

For member security - I would ask anyone interested in this item to contact steffcip directly through the eBay communication channels so you can confirm the Ebay Id is steff's (though I'm sure it is!)

Thanks steff, good luck.

Actually, I left the eBay link in, as steffcip doesn't have anything up for auction right now and it was only feedback...
